Fort Ranch Horse Sale
This spring I was doing some work for Ranchworldads and had the pleasure of attending the Fort Ranch Horse Sale in Promontory Utah. The sale is held out at the ranch, on the back side of the Great Salt Lake. The Sale is a weanling sale. The twist to this sale is that it is held in June. They sell the colts by running in a mare and colt. Then they auction off the colt. Then they turn the mare and colt back out till its time to wean the colt. The buyer pays one third of the purchase price the day of the sale and the balance when they pick up the colt at weaning. The Fort Ranch puts on a great sale. They serve a free lunch in a beautiful location. The Sale was attended by people as far away as Mexico City.

High Selling horse colt - $7,500.00 - Blue Roan ( Mr. Peppy Olena x Hickory Dickory Doc daughter )
Average on 80 head was - $2,460.00
